So he hooks up with the world’s fattest vegan, Rick Rubin, and they rent a house in the hills where some 70’s hippie orgy that went murderously wrong took place. They light candles, smoke pot, listen to the reels of “Reign In Blood” at deafening volumes while Neil plays “air bass” and Rubin watches while he puts away 8 gallons of Tofutti, grow shitty beards, eat straw and tree bark, and avoid showering at all costs. Ultimately they end up with a killer record that brings Neil “back to his roots”. Don’t worry though, he’s not selling out the scene. He’s still gonna pork moms and feather his hair. |

Very off topic, but here are some other Film Awards that say a lot about the U.S. vs. EuroLand and other far-flung places.
1) American National Society of Film Critics picked "Against the Wall-Gegen Die Wand" as the best Foreign lang flick.
- the Golden Globe went to propaganda fave Paradise Now.
Gegen Die Wand is a great German movie, and Paradise Now is a piece of state-funded political trash.
2) NSFC gave lots of awards to David Cronenberg´s History of Violence. While I haven´t seen it, Canuckster Cronenberg is clearly Lynchian in his greatness and always worthy. - But GG disagreed, neither he or the lead actor Ed Harris were even nominated. But they had room in their hearts for Matt Dillon AND Peter Jackson!
3) The NSFC also dishes out a documentary award, and it went to Werner "Weird Beard" Herzog´s GRIZZLY MAN, a film about two people who were eaten by hungry Alaskan bears. It´s awesome.

I heard that Grizzly Man was great- I always enjoyed Herzog after seeing My Best Fiend and reading Kinski's autobiography. I will have to check out Against the Wall too-
